Remembering our Stolen Sisters - Hosted by The Family Violence Prevention Committee

In 2014, close to 1200 Indigenous women were missing or murdered in Canada. An Indigenous women is eight times more likely to be murdered than any other Canadian. November is Family Violence Prevention month and this year we invite you to join us as we remember and honour the many missing and murdered indigenous women and girls in our region and across the Country.

On November 23, The Fort Saskatchewan Family Violence Prevention Committee will be screening the award winning documentary 'Quiet Killing.' Expertly edited and narrated, the film follows the families and loved ones of missing and murdered indigenous women, activists and survivors whose lives have been irrevocably changed by this violence. The film will explore the systemic issues that underpin violence against indigenous women and girls. Panel discussion to follow.
