Do you enjoy building projects with recycled and re-used materials?
Habitat for Humanity is looking for creative and skilled volunteers to join our Upcycling Team. Our Upcycling Team creatively repurposes items with materials from the Prefab Shop and ReStores. Volunteers will be guided by a supervisor, and will be performing tasks such as refurbishing furniture and building attractive and interesting household items for re-sale.
Upcycling allows us to reduce our ecological footprint by re-using materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
There are opportunities available for qualified volunteers to join our Upcycling Team on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Requirements:
· Comfortable and well experienced using power tools
· Upcycling experience
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
· At least 18 years of age
· Creative
· Adequate vision to do detailed work
· Ability to carry at least 15 pounds
· Conversational English
