Elk Island National Park - Astotin Lake Recreation Area

Enjoy the night sky with enthusiasts at the Astotin Lake Recreation Area after dark! As a member of the Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve, Elk Island National Park is the perfect place to view the stars and planets above.

Join Parks Canada staff for Milky Way Day September 1, 2019! All afternoon star and space-related experiences will be taking place. In the evening, join guest speakers as they talk about the night sky overhead. As the night sky falls, peek through telescopes into the sky overhead; Elk Island National Park staff and volunteers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada will be on site helping visitors use telescopes.
