Boys & Girls Club: Pink Shirt Day

Wednesday, Feb 27, 2019 at 11:03AM

The Fort Saskatchewan Boy & Girls Club along with Station Square Coop is proud to be a part of this initiative and engage our community in a movement that creates awareness and prevention programming around bullying throughout the City of Fort Saskatchewan.
During the month of February, the Boys and Girls Club leads a campaign to “Paint the Town Pink”. We are inviting businesses, organizations, schools and others in the community to decorate their storefronts, buildings, and windows with pink in the theme to promote kindness and to spread awareness for the campaign throughout the community. Those participating will have from February 4th until February 25th, at 3:00 pm to complete their decorating. After this, children and youth from the Boys and Girls Club will view all the decorated places and vote on a winning design. Voting will be based on creativity, representation of theme, and visual impact. The winner will be announced at the Pink Shirt Day rally at Station Square Co-op and will be presented with an award. If you would like to be a part of the competition this year, please email us at fortsaskboysandgirlsclub@hotmail.com stating that you are registering your business/organization/agency/school to be a part of the competition.

On Wednesday, February 27th, we will be hosting our annual walk and rally with the Boys and Girls Club. We will leave the club at 4:00pm and walk to Station Square Co-op. While at Co-op, we will create awareness for the day, and the mayor will make a proclamation in support of bullying prevention. Also during the day, we will have a BBQ set up at Co-op as a fundraiser for programs that promote kindness.
